Monday of the First Week in Ordinary Time
My dear encountered couples:
Have you ever gone through medical tests to find out if you had any serious disease? Not much fun was it? But the worst part is the waiting for the results. Sometimes you have to wait a week or more. Though you are busy with many things, the worry is always lurking in the back of your mind. And if you wake up in the middle of the night you find yourself almost overcome with fear. Then the day of the interview with the doctor comes. The results are in. What will he tell you? “We have the results of your tests,” he says. “They all came up negative. You’re okay. Just keep eating well and get enough rest” You almost dance out of his office all the way back to your car.
Jesus, you’re A#1 Doctor, has good news for you too: “This is the time of fulfillment. The reign of God is at hand! Reform your lives and believe in the good news!” Are you dancing with joy? Are your insides all excited? I hope so. For Jesus is telling you he has come to offer you everything that can satisfy your dreams. Just believe in him, live a spiritually healthy life, and heaven is yours.
If you take the doctor’s advice of eating well and getting enough rest, you’ll probably stay healthy longer. Take Jesus’ advice of how to live and you will grow healthier - spiritually healthier - eventually achieving everlasting health. Death will be nothing to fear. It will be but a door, opening for you to enter into a life with Love Himself. Now that’s really good news!
