From Fall To Spring In But A Moment

Wednesday of the Ninth Week in Ordinary Time

My dear encountered couples:
Have you been noticing all the flowers in the yards and the leaves on the trees this spring? Of course, you have. Along with all the fruits and vegetables and dandelions. All these things that died last fall have come back again. The same happens to us, you know. We die, we rise, we live again, not just for a season, but forever. Can’t keep a good man or woman down.
When God created, he put the spark of his life in everything. As it is impossible to suppress or do away with God, as many have tried to do, we will live forever. Whenever the right conditions are present life bursts forth, and no one is going to stop it, not even God for he has willed it to be. It takes rain and sun and nutrients in the earth to bring back the dead fruit of the earth. It takes grace and faith and the love of God to bring us back after we’ve been put in the earth. He has already placed the seed of those things in our souls.
People who live and die in Christ, people who believe in God and place their lives and souls in his hands have nothing to worry about as to a long and happy life. Maybe not a life in this world, as some so vigorously seek, but most assuredly in another one.
Will all the flowers and fruits and dandelions find themselves in a heaven when Earth is gone? I don’t know. But we will. For we believe in the “God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob” who Jesus speaks about today. And as he so very much wants to assure us, this God “is the God of the living, not of the dead.” Don’t worry about your loved ones and yourself dying. It is only for a season. Or is it just for a passing moment?
